CONNECT:TRANSFORM:RELATIONSHIP.
| 2 DAY INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT |
Day One.
Had a fun time trying to create a small photography studio today for a task in the Fine Art block of the explanatory stage. Pinched a lamp from upstairs and used two portfolio cases as a backdrop for a quick lighting/photography area. Who wants annoying backgrounds full of furniture and windows when you can have a clean canvas!
~Colin.
They turned out pretty good. Just wanting to isolate those shadows.

Day Two.
| Studio Work | Piece Production
-6 Initial Pieces
-4 Developed Pieces
-2 Final Pieces
'Collection of the first 6 pieces'
Collection of the first 6 images produced with Ink, Pastel, Graphite. When reviewing my work I saw that the 'Graphite sketch' of the skull needed reworking, so I used it as college for a later piece. Among my personal favorites at this stage was the piece in incorporating the use of red pastel and graphite as-well as the portrait teeth ink piece.
With the next 4 Pieces, I focused on using media I thought worked well before and began to work bigger, for the piece using red pastel, I had used a previous piece as collage to make up some of the initial outlines for the piece. This was, in my opinion, a stronger piece than compared to the original. I liked how layered and busy the piece looked although I didn't like the angle I chose as much from my object. I still much preferred the red pastel and graphite piece from the last 6 as the close up was alot more interesting.
Lastly, for my final pieces, I aimed to pull all the ideas together with the use of pastel, Ink, college, now including tone as suggested from my peer review with another student and close-ups. I was extremely happy with how the red pasted piece came out, the image really becomes visible as you step back from it and all the elements seem to fall into place, similarly with the other piece although it isnt as worked as I would like it to be.
